Who's the manufacturer for that fluted barrel?

I've got a set under an LPVO on a Mk18 build. They're okay for what they are. A means of aiming in case you glass breaks.

I not only like iron sites, but I am on a grand quest to pair the HKMP5 front site with the A1 rear. I have trouble with red dots because of my eyes, my climate has trouble of red dots because it gets cold, and as much as I love my Ticon LPVO’s, sometimes I like to run lightirons solve all these problems

The price and the quality don't match. Over 200 bucks for mid grade bus? I paid 40 for a set of aim sports and they're on par if not better quality. Magpul is just a hyped name now.

I disagree with Hop here about metal backup sites. The whole point is that they're there as a backup if your main optic fails and if you have plastic sites they're just as likely if not more likely to be broken by whatever damaged your primary optic. I'm saying your primary site should have the features you want but your "backup" sites should be absolutely rock solid reliable but not necessarily as capable.

Hop did you really call that the long range and short range aperture?

Backup irons are great if you have one optic you move around between rifles (or offset irons if you expect to get close in and can't remove your scope). The cost and weight added is minimal, but it just may help you out in a pinch.

I run back up irons on my rifle with red dot for obvious reasons. My rifle with an lpvo with a etched reticle I see no reason to run back up irons plus if I want the lpvo off I need a few minutes to unscrew the screws holding it on.

Best BUIS out there are the UTG low profile. They're actually made of metal, and aren't ridiculously overpriced.

Watching a bullpup being fired by a legit lefty is promising for me. I always saw bullpups as being more PDW or survival weapons more than offensive roles. CQB requirements didn't seem to warrant the need for a full length barrel, not enough to justify the drawbacks anyway, reload time being critical in that scenario and something I could never see being a strong point for a bullpup. Always laughed at the fact that the Kel-tec RFB made it into the game BF4, of course the only one with zero reliability issues.

Backup irons are a 100% essential piece of a serious fighting rifle, and it’ll only take one extended op on the pouring rain or heavy snowfall to make you realize that

Are the geissele uppers really that heavy? Compared to what?

I quite like the MBUS 3 rear sight over the MBUS, feels slimmer and smaller, plus the aperture see saw is much nicer. Never had any experience with the front sight though because I stubbornly refuse to not have an A2 FSB on any of my ARs.

Back up sights but no QD scope mount. You're gonna get killed with an Allen Wrench in your hand trying to remove your Aero scope mount?

Still chunky. And too many iron sights unable lay truly flat these days (ones on Springfield saint victor one of them)
